Ledama Ole kina, the Senator for Narok County, is an angry and frustrated man with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader and former Kenyan Prime Minister, Raila Odinga.
Ledama says that ODM’s decision to ouster him from the County Public Accounts and Investments Committee (CPAIC) chairmanship and removing him from the Senate Business Committee (SBC) is unjustified. It is alleged that ODM discharged Mr. Kina from CPAIC for what is interpreted as his alliance with the deputy president’s allies. Apparently, Ledama allowed the CPAIC committee members associated with DP Ruto to propose his name and vote for him against ODM’s preferred candidate, Professor Ongeri.
Ledama is convinced that it is Raila Odinga who is fighting him, despite his loyalty to the party and especially the party leader. Speaking to Kennedy Muriithi of NTV, the Narok Senator proclaimed,
“James Orengo told me that he is following strict instructions from the party leader that I should not be party to that committee.”
Clearly feeling betrayed by his party leader, Senator Ledama told the NTV reporter that he thought they were ‘ride and die together’ ‘bad boys’ with Raila Odinga.
Ledama promises to back his betrayers his way. Ledama warns,
“I am a wrong number to mess with, and that’s the fact. You know, I don’t tire. When I believe in something, I go for it. I literally go for it, Muriithi.”
“I am young, aggressive, and I know what I am doing. I can even afford to waste another 20 years. By the time I am 65, other people will be long gone if God is gracious to me and gives me more life” the Narok Senator states.
It is alleged that Ledama has already convened meetings with Maasai leader in an attempt to forge a new political strategy.
