The Jubilee Party has begun the process of expelling 5 nominated senators who snubbed President Kenyatta’s Parliamentary Group meeting on Monday. The senators include Falhada Dekow Iman, Naomi Jillo Waqo, Mary Seneta Yiane, Victor Prengei, and Millicent Omanga.

The Secretary-General Raphael Tuju said on Wednesday that the nominated senators would be recalled for ‘gross insubordination and misconduct.”

He said, “They received messages and did not even bother to send apologies for not attending the meeting.

Senator Millicent Omanga is a close ally of the deputy president William Ruto, whom she owes for her success in politics.

It is at the Parliamentary Group meeting at State House that the Jubilee Party changed the Senate leadership.

In an interview with James Mwangi of SDE in 2019, Omanga revealed that it is Ruto who organized for her appointment as the director of the Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) shortly after the Jubilee party took power. At the time, Omanga earned a living by hawking bedsheets.

After her failed attempt at running for the Nairobi Women Representative seat, Omanga exposed that it was the deputy president who pushed her recommendation as a Nominated Senator for the Jubilee Party.
